The best way to blow a candle out is with a snuffer, simply hold over the flame and the job is done.

For the best kept candle, before lighting, always trim the wick to 5mm. Hold the wick cutter just above the wax and they will cut to the perfect length. 

When it’s time to blow your candle out, instead hold the snuffer over the flame, close to the wax until the flame has extinguished.
